Here is Where We Meet imagines a 4D caravanserai experience – a contemporary gathering place where poetry, story, painting, and music merge as four dimensions. Drawing from the floating perspective of classical Chinese poetry and painting – where meaning moves in all directions at once – the work invites audiences to inhabit a living, multidimensional act of storytelling.

A multisensory, multilingual, multidimensional embodiment of Nicole W. Lee’s epic poem, the project transforms the text into an audio-visual-spatial journey through intimate collaboration with visual artist Dapeng Liu and composer Paul Castles. The poem, set to music and translated into colour and sound, unfolds across shifting terrains of language, dreamscape, and love – reviving the ancient oral storytelling tradition in a form that illuminates our shared longing for connection.
