Nicole W. Lee

Poet, playwright, writer

 

Nicole W. Lee is a poet, playwright, and writer born in Sydney to Chinese Malaysian parents. A graduate of Warren Wilson College’s MFA in Poetry and associate poetry editor at Four Way Review, her work has or will appear in AGNI, Shenandoah, Poetry Northwest, Meanjin, and more. Winner of the 2024 Palette Poetry Prize for “Deluge: A Chinese Almanac,” now being adapted for stage and screen, she has received fellowships from Bread Loaf Writers Conference, Tin House Writers Workshops (US), and the Ian Potter Cultural Trust (AU). Lee’s lyrical, image-rich writing explores identity, ancestry, and the Asian-Australian experience, often bridging classical Chinese poetics with contemporary forms and intercultural performance.
